Ozzy Osbourne has opened up about how his health and chronic pain issues have affected him in a new interview, warning that he believes he has a maximum of just “ten years” to live.
The 74-year-old, who recently honoured the 41st anniversary of his marriage to wife Sharon, says he’s “f*****g p****d off” at the thought of not having “the chance to say goodbye” with one final show.
The ‘Straight To Hell’ rocker has been plagued with spinal issues and even a tumour, forcing him to cancel previously scheduled tours, while he was also recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
“I said to Sharon that I’d smoked a joint recently and she said, ‘What are you doing that for! It’ll f*****g kill you!’ I said, ‘How long do you want me to f*****g live for?!’ At best, I’ve got ten years left and when you’re older, time picks up speed!” he exclaimed to Rolling Stone UK.
It’s been two decades of pain for Ozzy, since a quad bike accident at his home in 2003, but a subsequent fall in 2019 left him in more agony than ever and past surgeries have “drastically gone wrong”, leaving him “crippled”.

“I thought I’d be up and running after the second and third [surgeries], but with the last one they put a f****g rod in my spine,” he groaned.
“They found a tumour in one of the vertebrae, so they had to dig all that out too. It’s pretty rough, man, and my balance is all f****d up.”
Admitting that he still has the will to return to touring, he exclaimed: “I’m getting p****d off reading the papers, and they’re saying things like ‘Ozzy is fighting his last battle’. He’s sung his last ‘Paranoid’.
“One of the things I’ve been the most f****g p****d off at [is] I never got the chance to say goodbye or thank you, because my fans are what it’s all about,” he lamented.

“If I can just do a few gigs… They’ve been loyal to me for f*****g years!” he exclaimed, before adding that being able to complete some shows is his “goal” to work towards.
“I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life’ – and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man.”
Sharon chimed in to reveal that the past few years have been filled with “heartache” and that the formerly active frontman has found spending so much time at home “foreign”.
“He’s here while everyone else is out on the road. This is the longest time he hasn’t ever worked for,” she revealed.
Ozzy also suggested that the hardship he’s endured has helped him to discern who his true friends are, praising that Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been extremely supportive.
Meanwhile, Sharon previously let slip just how much she feels Ozzy needs that support, describing him as being like a “piece of china” after enduring seven operations over the past five years.
However, despite his stresses, Ozzy has vowed to try his best to get back onstage doing what he loves best in the future.
The December/January issue of Rolling Stone UK is out now, where you can read the full interview.
