Paddy McGuinness celebrated his 50th birthday early over the weekend, cosying up to loved ones while ex-wife Christine McGuinness sunned herself in Ibiza.
The Top Gear presenter, who turns 50 on Monday (14 August), posted a video on Instagram on Sunday which showed him being surprised by his nearest and dearest. Alongside the post, he wrote: “They got me good!!! One more sleep until the start of a new decade!”
The star also shared a series of photos from the weekend which showcased a number of celebratory highlights, including him toasting the milestone in front of a number 50 balloon; a birthday cake, and him posing alongside friends.
The post also included pictures of Line Of Duty star Vicky McClure and film director Jonathan Owen at their wedding, which Paddy attended in Nottingham on Saturday.
He captioned it: “What a weekend! Felt very loved and spoiled. Started off with a pre 50th, 50th with an amazing bunch of people who’ve supported and helped me throughout my career.
“Then onto celebrating the wedding of @vicky.mcclure and @jonathanowen71 in Nottingham! Congratulations to the loveliest couple ever and thank you to the bestest squad in the game.”
Friends and famous faces also sent early birthday wishes to the popular presenter, including former reality TV star Mark Wright and football coach and former player Robbie Keane.
Meanwhile, his former wife Christine McGuinness made the most of a sunny getaway to Ibiza with friends. Captioning a carousel of videos and images from her holiday upon her return, the blonde beauty, 35, penned: “Watching the rain at home wishing I was back on holiday [palm tree and crying face emoji] Music and sunsets are good for my soul honestly my worries disappear! Great company helps too”.
In an earlier post, she shared another selection of images from her trip and noted her desire to make the most of relaxing before booking a break with her children.
She wrote: ”Looking for a holiday with my babies now thinking I definitely won’t get to chill like this [crying laughing emoji] but the memories and milestones will be worth it”.
Christine and Paddy share three children together – nine year old twins, Leo and Penelope, and six year old daughter Felicity – all three of whom have autism.
The couple announced their separation publicly in July 2022 after 11 years of marriage. Despite their split, they remain close as they co-parent their young children together. After announcing their separation last summer, the family of five still enjoyed a holiday to sunny Spain in May of this year, and many other family excursions.
