A friend of the late Paul O'Grady has said that the TV star "died in his own bed" with husband Andre Portasio by his side.
Paul's friends, fans and loved ones were left devastated on Tuesday as Andre announced that the legendary TV personality had died "unexpectedly but peacefully," aged 67.
Tributes have poured in for Paul, as many of his friends have spoken out to express shock and grief at his death, as well as their adoration for him.
The Avengers star Linda Thorson, who was a close friend of Paul, appeared on Good Morning Britain as she paid tribute to the late star, whilst also revealing the circumstances of his death.
Clearly emotional, Linda said: "I can’t believe it. Just to hang up the phone and hours later for someone to die who was so happy. Full of life.
"But he died in his own bed. His husband was there, Andre, who he’s been with for so many years. The most divine man.
"He’s only 41, Andre. He will be so bereft. He worshipped Paul. He gave a speech at Paul’s 60th birthday. And Cilla [Black] was there Barabara Windsor. They’re gone. They’ll all be partying in heaven you know – and the Queen."
Paul's death was announced by his heartbroken partner, Andre, who said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.”
Camilla, Queen Consort, paid tribute to Paul via a statement from the Royal Family's official Twitter account.
It read: "Deeply saddened to hear of the death of Paul O’Grady, who worked closely with Her Majesty in support of @Battersea_, providing lots of laughter and many waggy-tailed memories."
They also posted a heartwarming snap of the Queen Consort and Paul standing in some woodland with a small white dog at their feet.
Paul had met the Queen Consort a number of times through his work with animals, as he raised money and awareness of animals in need.
Paul previously opened up on his relationship with Camilla, telling Mail Online’s Richard Eden: “Camilla’s a really funny woman.
“I always get a big hug and kiss from her, too, which always shocks everybody.”
Last year, Paul and Camilla filmed a Christmas special of For the Love of Dogs, which saw Camilla hosting a garden party to celebrate Battersea's 160th anniversary.
During his career, Paul hosted The Paul O’Grady Show, Blind Date and Blankety Blank – where he played drag queen Lily Savage.
He also hosted ITV’s multi-award-winning For The Love Of Dogs.
