Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joined other members of the royal family—as well as political leaders and foreign royals—for the Queen’s state funeral on Monday, and people are questioning the seating arrangements.
The Duke and Duchess were seated in the second row, next to Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. They sat behind King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, who were in the front row along with Princess Anne, Princess Anne’s husband Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, and Prince Edward’s wife Sophie.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton were seated in the first row (across the aisle) with their children—and some people questioned the decision to have them up front, while Meghan and Harry were given second row seats. Sure, one could argue that Prince William is the direct heir to the throne and therefore would obviously have a front-row seat—but plenty of people on Twitter have pointed out that Harry’s cousin Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall were also in the front row.
