One year on since pop sensation Little Mix announced they were taking an indefinite hiatus, former band member Perrie Edwards has delighted fans by teasing the upcoming release of her first solo album.
The 29-year-old star took to social media on Friday to share a sun soaked video with revealed she had been busy hard at work in the studio working on several new tracks ahead of the release.
Dressed in an oversized t-shirt and pleated skirt, Perrie could be seen walking through a rural garden before heading inside to a secret location where she and her fellow creatives were perfecting the album one track at a time.
“I’ve been a little quiet lately…” she told her fans in a cheerful video set to Natalie Cole’s 1975 classic, This Will Be. She then continued: “…and it’s because I’m working hard on my first solo ALBUM! I’ve been working with a lot of incredible writers and producers.”
As she walked through the house to show a glimpse of each incredible member of staff helping to finish the album, Perrie admitted: “It’s so much fun and I’m loving every minute of it!”
The singer then concluded the video: “We’re getting there one song at a time, I cannot wait to share it all with you.”
Shortly after the post was shared, fans raced to the comment section to share their delight with Perrie, as they excitedly began counting down the days until her first solo release.
“Literally sunshine in a human omg miss u so much,” wrote one delighted fan.
A second also agreed as they urged Perrie to take her time, as she was worth the wait adding: “Take your time queen, we’ll be patient.”
A third fan even quizzed Perrie about her absence from social media directly, as they asked her: ‘Main question Miss Perrie: Have you missed us as much as we’ve missed you?’
To which the star soon replied: “I think I’ve missed you more. TRUST ME!”
Little Mix announced they were parting ways indefinitely to focus on their solo careers at the conclusion of the Confetti tour in May 2022.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock – who married beau Andre Gray earlier this month – became the first member of the band to release solo music following their hiatus with her track Don't Say Love last week, becoming the highest new entry on the Official Charts.
Former band member Jesy Nelson launched her solo career with the Nicki Minaj assisted Boyz in 2021, returning to music earlier this year with Bad Thing, which failed to chart.
