Peter Andre ‘can’t imagine’ what Brianna Ghey’s family are feeling: ‘It’s so sad’

Peter Andre has said his thoughts are with Brianna Ghey's family after a boy and a girl, both aged 15, were charged with murdering transgender schoolgirl Brianna, who was stabbed to death in a park in Warrington aged 16.

In his exclusive column – only available to OK! VIPs – Pete, 49, shared: "Everyone should be able to be who they want to be. It’s sad we live in a world where crimes like this happen." Here, the dad of four also spoke of his recent trip away from the UK and how he and his wife Emily celebrated Valentine's Day this year…

FAMILY TIME

We’re back home from our wonderful holiday in Dubai, which has been really special. Being away as a family is all I could ask for. The weather was beautiful and we stayed in three gorgeous places – Anantara World Islands, Anantara The Palm and Atlantis The Royal. We went on a boat trip, a safari tour and had fun at the waterpark Aquaventure. We loved every minute! A huge thanks to On The Beach and Emirates for making my birthday extra special.

VALENTINE'S TRADITIONS

Emily and I always celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s something we love to do together. But this year, as we’re away with all the kids, we celebrated with them instead by going out for dinner together – and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. If we were at home, Emily and I would have definitely gone out for dinner just the two of us. It’s always the perfect excuse for a date night!

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON

Junior is performing at Bestival this year, as well as other shows. He’s going to be doing a lot more very soon too. It will be a great year for him and I couldn’t be prouder. He’s worked really hard and things are definitely falling into place for him. He always used to come and watch me on stage, but it’s his turn now. He will be great.

REACHING FOR THE STARS AGAIN

S Club 7 are back together for their 25th anniversary! I am so happy for them. Nothing makes me happier than seeing groups get back together after a long time. They will do really well and I know fans will be so excited to see them performing again. As they say – there ain’t no party like an S Club party! I know a lot of them and they deserve this. They are such great people and I’m really happy for them. Best of luck, guys!

FAREWELL TO THE MASKED DANCER

It’s been reported that The Masked Dancer has been axed, which is a shame – I, for one, will miss it. It’s hard to know which shows are going to do well in such a competitive market. The Masked Singer has done very well, but it’s not always the case with new formats. The X Factor was the most viewed show for years but it finished – that’s just how it works in the industry. It’s unpredictable.

MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH BRIANNA'S FAMILY

A boy and a girl, both aged 15, have been charged with murdering transgender schoolgirl Brianna Ghey, who was stabbed to death in a park in Warrington aged 16. Brianna’s family said she was “strong, fearless and one of a kind” with a “larger-than-life character”. While police said there was no evidence Brianna’s killing was hate-related, detectives are exploring all lines of enquiry, including hate crime. I can’t imagine how her family are feeling right now and my thoughts are with them. Everyone should be able to be who they want to be. It’s sad we live in a world where crimes like this happen.
