Peter Andre has paid tribute to his ‘sweet, kind, caring and often moody’ daughter Princess on her 16th birthday.
The 50 year old singer was up early on Thursday morning to make the teenager her favourite breakfast of pancakes – “as requested” – to get her birthday celebrations underway. The proud dad went on to say that, although she may be a princess to everyone else – she will always be his “Bista” – his nickname for her, which started when her big brother Junior was unable to say ‘sister’ properly when he was little.
Peter, who shares Junior, 18, and Princess with ex Katie Price, posted a sweet montage of pictures of his daughter to Instagram – backed by Prince’s hit song The Most Beautiful Girl in the World. As a caption, he wrote: "Happy 16th birthday to my sweet, kind, caring and, let’s be honest, often moody daughter.
"Hope today is everything you wish for. Pancakes are ready when you come downstairs as requested. But you still have to clean your plate. A princess to everyone else but always Bista to me.
"So proud of you. Stay kind, humble and funny. Love you so so much."
In his exclusive OK! column earlier this week, Peter revealed that Princess did not have any firm plans for her big day- and was likely to leave it late before deciding.
He said: "We don’t have any official plans yet – she’s very last-minute when it comes to deciding things. Junior and Princess are very different, when it was his birthday he knew he wanted a specific thing early on, whereas Princess can’t decide.
"That’s why I love them both. I’m happy to let her choose whatever she wants to do to celebrate."
Whatever she decides on, it is unlikely to cause the Mysterious Girl singer as much stress as Junior’s 18th birthday celebrations – which saw him jet off to Ibiza for his first lads holiday. Junior brought in the landmark birthday in style – partying with pals and enjoying a day out on a yacht.
While on holiday on the infamous Mediterranean party island, he performed at Ibiza Rocks, having released his first song Slide last year. He also visited the O Beach nightclub, where he posed for a picture with owner Wayne Lineker.
In his weekly column for us, dad of four Peter wrote of the trip: “It’s a bittersweet time because I’m so proud of the man he’s becoming, but it also means he’s legally an adult. And that means that although he’s the man of the house when I’m not there, he can also go to clubs, he can drink… do I need to go on?
“It’s scary but I know I need to let go eventually as it’s a natural part of life. Junior is so respectful and knows the rules we teach him. He should have fun – but I just hope he’s sensible."
On Junior’s return, Peter took to Instagram to share his relief. He wrote: "He's home and safe, and he's upstairs probably ready to sleep for days. I can relax now. Love you son."
