Location, Location, Location presenter Phil Spencer is in mourning after his parents were killed in a tragic car crash.
The Channel 4 star’s dad Richard, 89, and mum Anne, 82, died on Friday following the accident at the family’s farm.
His parents’ car careered into a river on their farm at Littlebourne, near Canterbury, Kent in the incident.
The couple were driving to a pub for lunch when their car suddenly veered off the access road into a shallow tributary river.
After the crash, police and the fire brigade pulled Richard and Anne from the vehicle, and they were then rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead and his wife later died.
Phil’s Location, Location, Location co-host Kirstie Allsopp said the presenter felt some comfort that his parents were together when they died.
According to The Sun, Kirstie said: “I’ve spoken to Phil and it’s tragic for the Spencer family, but his parents were together and that’s something that is a great source of solace to them all.
“The family is very loving and close. There are four children, Phil, Robert, Caryn and Helen, and they had eight grandchildren.
“This is awful for all of the family, but they were together at the end and they were lovely people.
“They were on their way to the pub on a Friday afternoon in Kent, where they lived – they were in the place they loved, with the person they loved. They were both people of Christian faith.
“Phil and his siblings are all consoling each other at this difficult time.”
