This Morning host Phillip Schofield was spotted having the time of his life as he partied at this year’s National Television Awards following his co-star Holly Willoughby's decision to ditch the lavish after party and go home early.
Smiling brightly, the stylish presenter looked every bit the winner as he sported in a dashing blue velvet lounge jacket and blue turtle neck while making his way through the crowds.
Holly and Phil had been in attendance at the annual celebration of the best and brightest talent in television, with every winner having been voted for entirely by members of the public.
On the night, This Morning won the Best Daytime TV Show award, as it saw off stiff competition from Loose Women, The Chase and The Repair Shop to take home a gong for the twelfth year in a row.
As the show was announced as the winner for the Daytime category, a stunned Phillip put his head in his hands and appeared to hold back tears as he was overwhelmed by the news.
Holly looked equally as surprised and pleased as she immediately hugged her co-star and off-screen ‘bestie'.
She then rushed off to embrace fellow presenter Alison Hammond, who had missed out on a solo award for TV Presenter to reigning champions Ant and Dec, who took home the prize for the 21st year in a row.
While many of the celebrities in attendance applauded the show’s victory, it didn’t come without its controversy, with several boos being heard from the crowd as they headed up on stage to accept the award, so soon after the now infamous queue jumping scandal at the Queen’s Lying-In-State.
However this didn’t deter Philip as he celebrated the show’s victory in style alongside his daughter and remaining co-stars, after giving an emotional speech in recognition of how much the win meant to the This Morning team.
“Don’t think we ever get complacent and please don’t think we ever take this for granted,” Phillip told the audience during his acceptance speech.
“This means so much to us every year, especially this year. We have the most amazing team. I have the best friend, we have the best boss.”
Holly, 41, also added: "Thank you so much, this award means everything because it is voted by you, and I think This Morning has a very special relationship with you. You make our show for us, you really do."
Alison Hammond also weighed in on the victory, as she cheekily quipped: “I ain’t going to lie but we all know I should have won one of these as well. "Bradley Walsh, Graham Norton and the legends that are Ant and Dec are amazing, but let’s be honest, I should have won one but This Morning won one anyways.”
