Piers Morgan says it wasnt enough money after host turns down Strictly bosses

NTAs: Piers Morgan receives mixed audience reaction

Piers Morgan has revealed he was asked to take part in Strictly last year but he turned it down because show bosses weren’t paying him enough money.

The Uncensored host spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk and other press on the red carpet at The Sun’s Who Cares Wins Awards 2023.

“They asked me [to do Strictly] last year,” he commented. “I don’t want to put the other contestants under that kind of pressure.”

Piers added: “Wasn’t enough money if you want me to humiliate myself on a dancefloor.”

The broadcaster went on to share that during his time across the pond he was asked to take part in the US version, Dancing With The Stars.

But the former Good Morning Britain presenter admitted he never received a call back when he suggested a fee.

He recalled: I got offered $150,000 on Dancing With The Stars when I was in America when I was doing America’s Got Talent. I said, ‘come back to me if it’s $1.2 million’.

He quipped that the show producers didn’t come back to him in the end.

Meanwhile, Piers looked dapper in a suit as he hit the red carpet for the award ceremony held at The Roundhouse in London on Tuesday.
