Celia Walden discusses marriage with Piers Morgan in 2018
Piers Morgan’s wife Celia Walden jokingly suggested swapping husbands with Amanda Holden in a cheeky comment on Instagram this week. The Britain’s Got Talent judge shared a picture of her and her husband Chris Hughes touching noses and gazing into each other’s eyes as she paid tribute to him on their 15th wedding anniversary.
Alongside the picture, Amanda, 52, wrote: “15 years ago today, I married my best friend. 20 years together. 2 Girls. An [angel] boy and we have made a beautiful life together!!! (having said everything above, we still bicker every day) #anniversary.”
Many of the presenter’s two million followers flocked to her post to comment, including Celia who cheekily wrote: “If ever you’d consider a husband swap, Mandy, you know where I am.” Davina McCall added: “Love this pic of you two lovebirds x Huge congratulations x and tons of love.”
Ruth Langsford typed: “Happy Anniversary you gorgeous love birds!” Amanda and her second husband, a record producer, tied the knot back in December 2008 at Babington House in Somerset and they share two daughters together; Lexi, 17, and Hollie, 11.
Piers, his wife and Amanda are no strangers to a humorous exchange with each other. Back in 2021, the presenter said he was “punching” with “fit” Celia, who he married in 2010. While a guest on Paul O’Grady’s Saturday Night Line Up, she revealed she did a “stupid thing” at their wedding and then cheekily added: “Yes, somebody married Piers Morgan. Celia, and she’s really fit as well, he’s really punching!”

Recalling the moment she embarrassed herself, Amanda said she didn’t know who magician Dynamo was when she told him she could get him on Britain’s Got Tale to perform. As Paul winced the cringey moment, she continued to explain: “And then Chris, my husband said, ‘Amanda, it’s Dynamo!’”
“Anyway, he had like this do and he had it all in his back garden and everything, it was absolutely beautiful,” she continued. Amanda and Piers went from enemies to friends after Simon Cowell put them as judges together on the show back in 2007.

Years before, Piers had exposed her affair with Neil Morrissey while an editor at The Daily Mirror. Speaking to The Times about the situation earlier this year, she said of forgiving him: “Piers is a poacher turned gamekeeper, isn’t he? He was the youngest ever Mirror editor and had something to prove, so he was like a dog with a bone with me.
“But now… If I had a problem I’d call Piers in the middle of the night and I know he’d help me. I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea and 100 per cent I don’t agree with him on a lot of things. But people don’t see what a sap he is with his young daughter — he’s a great dad.”
Amanda’s interview came after Celia hit the headlines for saying she enjoyed a six-week break away from her marriage last year. The author said spending time apart and not speaking on the phone to Piers rebooted their relationship, despite not having problems beforehand.
She explained on Lorraine: “It was very good for both of us. We didn’t have many phone calls, but we did message and I just found it so exciting when we saw each other again. It felt like the early days of our marriage or even the early days of dating and I love that.”
Piers’ wife went on to say that when they did reunite, they had a good catch-up. She continued: “He’s very pleased to be allowed back into the fold, because I think men do like their wives to be around a lot of the time, at least I think they do. He’s in fine form.”
