Police have said Ian Watkins’ injuries after being stabbed in prison are “not life-threatening”.
The disgraced singer is behind bars serving a 29-year sentence for child sex offences.
Last Saturday, the 46-year-old was attacked in HMP Wakefield and taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire force said: “He was taken to hospital where his injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.”
Inquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.
A source previously told The Mirror he had reportedly been taken hostage by three other inmates.
The motivation for the attack was allegedly jealousy over Watkins giving guitar lessons to other inmates.
They told the publication: “He was found by officers after being held hostage and battered on Saturday morning.
“He’s in a life-threatening condition and there are fears he could die. If he survives, he’ll have been very lucky.”
According to the publication, witnesses said paramedics worked to save his life in an ambulance outside the jail.
A Prison Service spokesperson told them: “Police are investigating an incident which took place on Saturday at HMP Wakefield. We are unable to comment further while the police investigate.”
Express.co.uk contacted West Yorkshire Police for further comment.
The former rockstar was jailed for 29 years in December 2013 with a further six years on licence, after admitting to a string of sex offences – including the attempted rape of a fan’s baby.
Ian was initially arrested following the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on September 21, 2012.
During the search, a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were seized.
Following an analysis of the equipment, his crimes were uncovered.
