Rio and Kate Ferdinand had a security scare at their home on Friday night, after 'intruders were spotted at the property', according to reports.
It comes amid a number of high-profile burglaries at the homes of both current and former footballers.
Just months ago, Raheem Sterling was forced to rush home during the 2022 Qatar World Cup when his home was burgled while his fiancée Paige Milian and their three children were inside.
And back in 2020, former footballer Ashley Cole was subjected to a terrifying knifepoint robbery in which a masked gang allegedly threatened to "cut his fingers off".
A source close to Ferdinand told the MailOnline that there was a security incident at the couple's Home Counties mansion last night, with police being called to the property.
The publication reports that there is now a criminal investigation underway.

The terrifying incident comes as Rio, 44, and wife Kate, 31, prepare to welcome their second child together, her second and his fifth.
Rio and Kate married back in 2019 in a beautiful beach ceremony in Marmaris, Turkey, after three years of dating.
Kate became the stepmum of Rio's three children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 13, and Tia, 11, who he shared with his late wife Rebecca Ellison, who passed away in 2015 after a short battle with breast cancer.
The former TOWIE star now hosts he podcast Blended, where she openly discusses her family life, often with Rio featuring as a guest.
In a recent episode, Rio shared how happy he is that his three children get along with Kate – although there were times when the pair almost called it quits.
He said: "I'm thinking about the kids and just thinking of how at the beginning it was difficult, but now, I'm just visualising loads of different scenarios where I might come in and like, you're doing Tia's hair, or she's not well and she's cuddling up to you or Tate, same thing cuddling you and making you laugh and you've got quite a funny sense of humour, similar together.
"Or Lorenz opening up and talking about things where he wasn't like that before. Like when you look at it like that, there's a lot of the yards that have been had and done over this time it's been good."
Kate then revealed: "Because you used to pray for days like this and you think, are they ever gonna come? Is all this worth it? That's what sometimes we used to get in bed and say, 'Is this worth it?'"
"I think if you genuinely if there's love there innit, it's like that overrides it," Rio replies. "It's like them old songs, innit? 'Love overrides everything.'"
