Former Love Island star Laura Anderson has admitted she was "mortified" when she answered a question wrong in a recent breastfeeding class, after her sister told her to do something the wrong way.

The 34 year old is soon to become a mum for the very first time when she welcomes her baby daughter into the world.

Like most expectant mums, she's been swotting up on raising a baby – including reading plenty of books and going to classes – although she admitted she's been scared to do the latter, in case people recognise her due to her fame.

Speaking exclusively to OK! for her latest pregnancy column, Laura explained: "I recently went on a breastfeeding course and I was a bit nervous.

"I'm normally not shy, but sometimes I worry because I am in the public eye, and people who are at a class might know a lot about my life.

"I just sit there and think 'oh god, are people sat there thinking that they know loads about my life?'"

Laura went on to recall a mortifying moment when she thought she knew the answer to a question – but was proved wrong by the class teacher.

"I was so proud of myself because I'd read loads of books, so I kind of knew a lot of stuff," she told us.

"So then we had these fake babies and a fake boob and you had to pretend to squirt the milk out, which was quite funny."

The star continued: "But, weeks ago, my sister, who has children of her own, taught me how to get the milk out of your breast.

"So when the teacher asked if anyone knew how to do it, I put my hand up, and said 'oh my god, I know how to do it', and excitedly showed the class thinking I was right – only to be told I was completely wrong.

"Everyone laughed and I was mortified – I rang my sister afterwards and was like 'you b***h,' but I learned something new in the end, so it's okay."

Despite being excited about the next huge step in her life, Laura has experienced ups and downs whilst being pregnant, as she admitted that it is an "emotional rollercoaster".

The 34 year old has had a whirlwind year, after meeting her baby's father, former EastEnders star, Gary Lucy, last summer, when they began filming for E4's Celebs Go Dating.

The show sees celebrities matched with non-famous people to go on dates, but the connection between Laura and Gary became stronger, and they entered into a relationship.

Laura announced her pregnancy in February – the same day as reports emerged that she and Gary had split, and Laura is now embarking on motherhood as a single mum.

She's not let her situation get her down, however, and in her latest exclusive pregnancy column for OK!, the star said that despite her 'struggles', she is 'really lucky'.

Laura admitted that sometimes her emotions have got the better of her whilst she's been pregnant, as she told us: "Anyone who is or has been pregnant, no matter what age or situation you're in, will know that it's an emotional rollercoaster.

"You have to get your head around the idea of having a baby and being a mum – the reality of it all."

She also spoke about her biggest personal achievement during pregnancy, which she said was moving house when heavily pregnant – and sorting most of it out herself.

"A woman can do anything," she said. "I did a lot of it on my own – I've got everything organised and put everything away."

She continued: "I was so anxious for so long. It was sort of a goal of mine to have a nursery and create space where I could provide everything for the baby and make it as easy as possible for myself to look after her properly.

"Moving and getting it done has really taken a weight off my shoulders, and I feel really proud because all of my friends that have come round and seen my new flat are so impressed."

Laura went on to say that she feels ready to welcome her baby, now that the house move is out of the way.

She said: "Regardless of sometimes feeling so sorry for myself, for any of the struggles that I've had and things that have happened, I really am lucky to be in this situation.

"It's the start of something really exciting and I can't wait."
