Prince Harry has admitted that he "felt free" following the release of his memoir, Spare.
The 38 year old made the revelation as he sat down with trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté, a renowned speaker and bestselling author, for what was billed as an '"intimate conversation" about "living with loss and personal healing'" on Saturday, March 4.
The £17 tickets for the livestream also included a hardback copy of Harry's memoir, which was published on 10 January this year and is the fastest selling nonfiction book of all time.
Speaking about the release of his hit autobiography, the Duke said, "Once the book came out, I felt incredibly free. I felt a huge weight off my shoulders."
"But the system, I guess which to some extent I am still part of, doesn't encourage free living."
He added, "A lot of families are complicated and are dysfunctional but for me, when I was doing therapy regularly – once every other week – I suddenly realised that I had learned a new language.
"The people I was surrounded by didn't speak that language, so I actually felt more pushed aside."
In his book, the Duke of Sussex, who was interviewed by Gabor in the Montecito mansion he shares with his wife, Meghan Markle, described his royal life as like "fancy captivity".
The virtual event comes after the news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been told to move out of their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage.
According to reports, the King, 74, made the decision shortly after the publication of Prince Harry’s book Spare – with sources claiming that the Duke’s criticisms of his step-mother, Queen Consort Camilla, by alluding to her as a "wicked stepmother" had been the “last straw”.
Since then, it has been revealed that Harry and Meghan are "OK" with leaving Frogmore Cottage, believing that "if we need to move out, we will get ourselves out", according to The Times.
According to reports, the King wants the Duke and Duchess of Sussex out of Frogmore Cottage before his Coronation in May.
