Prince Harry ‘misses’ wedding of his ‘real best man’ as he’s spotted 5,000 miles away

Prince Harry did not attend the wedding of his "real best man" and was instead spotted over 5,000 miles away in the USA.

According to Royal observers Jack Mann was considered Harry's "real best man" over brother Prince William, when he got married to Meghan.

The Sun reported that while his polo teammate Jack tied the knot in Stutton, Suffolk, the Duke of Sussex was far away in Santa Barbara, California.

Harry was known to have a close relationship with Jack, with the two bonding at Sandhurst during their training as officers in the Blues and Royals. They went on to serve together in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Jack recently wed Isabella Clark, an osteopath, at a ceremony which took place at St Peter's Church in Stutton and was attended by notable guests such as Princess Charlotte's godfather, Thomas van Straubenzee, and his wife Lucy.

However, Prince Harry was absent from celebration.

In his memoir, Spare, Harry revealed that he had experienced strained relationships with some old friends due to his public criticisms of the Royal Family.

Jack is the son of former SAS officer Simon Mann, who gained notoriety for his involvement in the 2004 Wonga Coup to overthrow the president of Equatorial Guinea.

Jack himself has also hit the headlines in the past, including when he was prevented from traveling to Libya for a mission by Maltese officials.

He previously worked for Aegis Defence Services as the "country manager" in Libya, according to The Sun.

It comes as it was confirmed by Buckingham Palace that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially vacated their UK home, Frogmore Cottage.

Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, were asked to remove any of their remaining possessions from the home close to Windsor Castle just weeks after the Duke criticised his family in his tell-all book Spare.

The Crown Estate property was fully refurbished by the couple, who have now opted to live in California with their two children, Archie four and Lilibet, two.

At the annual Sovereign Grant account briefing on Royal finances, Sir Michael Stevens, Keeper of the Privy Purse, said: “We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have vacated Frogmore Cottage.

“Safe to say that, as has previously been stated, the Duke and Duchess have paid for the expenditure incurred by the Sovereign Grant in relation to the renovation of Frogmore Cottage, thus leaving the Crown with a greatly enhanced asset.”
