Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi may be celebrating their daughter Sienna’s second birthday today, but sources have revealed that the couple are already planning baby number two.
Sources close to the Yorks have revealed that the princess and her husband are keen to add to their brood so that Sienna will have a sibling close to her age.
"Beatrice wants another little one then she will consider her family complete," a source told OK!
"She’s been telling friends for quite some time now that it is the right time to add to her family and she wants to do it soon so that her children are all close in age."
Although this will be Princess Beatrice’s second child, her husband Edo already has a son, Christopher, seven, nicknamed Wolfie, with his previous partner Dara Huang.
"Edo has a son and a daughter now and is very happy, but he’s keen to add to his brood one more time," the source said.
"Beatrice considers Wolfie one of the family and she treats him like her own, but she also thinks it’s important that she and Edo have another baby before it’s too late."
If Beatrice was to welcome a second child, the youngster would be born 11th in the royal line of succession.
OK! has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
Following King Charles's ascension to the throne, Beatrice become one his seven Counsellors of State, which allows her to represent the monarch on official duties when required.
Despite being Princesses, neither Beatrice nor her sister Eugenie are working royals, and their mother Sarah, Duchess of York, has previously said that this leads to a lot of their charity work going "unheard and unseen."
Speaking on her Tea Talks Podcast, Sarah said: "My girls are incredible – it's both private and public, it's not about working or non-working because they work very, very hard publicly and they work very, very hard privately.
"They are mothers and the work-life balance they are getting is extraordinary. They just do it in a very real way and I'm so proud of them."
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has echoed the Duchess's thoughts and praise for Beatrice and Eugenie, although she argues that it's perhaps best that the pair remain non-working royals.
Speaking exclusively to OK! and referring to King Charles' plan to only have working senior members of the Royal Family front and centre, she said: "If they became full-time working royals, they would have to be supported from the Sovereign’s Grant, and this is probably not the time for any more public expenditure on the Royal Family.
"Both young women have brought their own personal experience into play, and have spoken publicly about dyslexia (Beatrice) and scoliosis (Eugenie). These are important subjects and all the more effective because they are speaking from the heart.
"There’s much to admire about these two young women, but on balance, I think it is better that they do not become full-time working royals, but rather use their platforms in the way they are already doing."
