Princess Charlotte and Kate’s sweet ‘mummy-daughter moment’ leaves royal fans emotional

Members of the Royal Family were out in force yesterday (Sunday, April 9) as they attended the Easter Mattins Service at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Among the ranks were The Prince and Princess of Wales who made the short journey from Adelaide Cottage with their three children to spend the first Easter Sunday of the new reign with The King and Queen Consort.

While they walked behind the likes of Zara Tindall and Princess Beatrice, there were a handful of sweet moments shared between the family-of-five as they arrived and departed the service.

One of the cutest interactions was between The Princess of Wales and her daughter Princess Charlotte as they walked back up the hill towards the castle – presumably to enjoy their Easter lunch.

After thanking the Chaplain, the mother and daughter duo held hands and smiled at the gathered photographers and well-wishers as they started their journey back.

Kate – who was wearing a stylish blue Catherine Walker coat and matching pill-box hat – waved her thanks for the Easter wishes which prompted Princess Charlotte to copy her mum and do the same seconds later.

Royal fans noticed the mini-me moment with one writing on Twitter: "I love this! A mummy & Charlotte moment… so much love between them it's palpable."

Another wrote: "So adorable Princess Charlotte waits for The Princess of Wales to join her. Not without my mummy."

And a third said: "William and Catherine are doing such a lovely job raising their children. So beautiful to see children show respect to adults."

King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, were also in attendance, marking the first Easter Sunday service with Charles as monarch.

Among other royal attendees were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh who arrived with their son James, Earl of Wessex.

Princess Beatrice came with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi along with sister Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank. Mike and Zara Tindall were also spotted with their two young daughters Mia and Lena.
