Queen’s children now at Balmoral as jet carrying senior Royals touches down

The Queen's four children are all now in Scotland after racing to visit their ailing mother.

Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward were summoned to Her Majesty's bedside at Balmoral on Thursday before a Palace statement was released stating that doctors were "concerned".

Just before 4pm a flight containing up to seven members of the royal family landed at Aberdeen airport.

The Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of York and the Earl and Countess of Wessex were confirmed as being among the senior Royals onboard.

It is understood the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making their way to Balmoral separately from other royals, but have been in co-ordination with other family members’ plans.

Royal Air Force flight KRF23R took off from RAF Northolt in South Ruislip, west London, at 2.39pm, according to flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.

Prince Charles and wife Camilla had already travelled to be with the Queen, Clarence House confirmed, as they had been staying nearby at Birkhall on the Balmoral estate. Princess Anne was also already at Balmoral.

Not joining the family flight was the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, 40, who instead was seen in Windsor picking up Prince George and his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, from their first full day at their new school.

Today's development came after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, a day after appointing Liz Truss as Prime Minister at Balmoral, after accepting doctors’ advice to rest.

Her Majesty has had ongoing mobility issues and looked bright but frail while using a walking stick during Tuesday’s audience with Ms Truss.

It followed a visit from outgoing prime minister Boris Johnson as he tendered his resignation.

The new PM has said: "The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime".

She added: "My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time."

Buckingham Palace issued a statement about the Queen's health at 12.32pm on Thursday.

It read: "Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."
