Canadian rapper Pat Stay has died at the age of 36 after being stabbed in Nova Scotia.
The star was discovered with stab wounds and transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.
The Halifax Police added in a statement: ‘The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy today and has ruled the manner of death to be a homicide. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Patrick Wayne Stay
‘Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.’
No arrests have currently been made.
Stay was well known for his live battle raps and just days before his death, released the video for his his diss track ‘(The Game DISS) Pat Stay feat. Kaleb Simmonds – ‘Warm up”
It followed criticism The Game made of Eminem, with the star writing: ‘I’ve had this in the chamber for a good minute now ready to fire if Game got brave. Clearly he don’t want smoke. But this goes too hard to keep from yall so here it is.’

Following Stay’s death, tributes have poured in from musicians and rappers, including Eminem, who tweeted: ‘Hiphop lost one of the best battlers of all time … RIP@patstay .. KINGS NEVER DIE.’
Drake also reportedly paid tribute on Instagram, writing: ”RIP to the Sucka Free Boss one of my fav rappers ever.’

Stay also recently celebrated his son Calvin’s 5th birthday, sharing a photo of himself hugging the youngster and writing: ‘
