Madonna’s family ‘prepared for worst’ after singer rushed to ICU
Actress Rosie O’Donnell has shared a brief update on her longtime pal Madonna after the pop megastar was forced to cancel her tour due to illness.
The 61-year-old comedian shared a throwback snap with Madonna, 64, on her Instagram on Thursday, the morning after news broke the singer had been taken to an intensive care unit after a serious bacterial infection.
In the image, the pair are doing yoga poses and laughing on a late-night chat show together.
Rosie captioned the post, shared with her 489,000 followers: “she’s feeling good #madonna #love.”
Madonna’s longtime manager Guy Oseary confirmed on Wednesday she had been taken to hospital on June 24 following a serious infection.

He said while she remains under medical care, her condition is “improving” and reassured fans a “full recovery is expected”.
Sadly, her upcoming 40th-anniversary tour has now been postponed with all commitments “paused” due to her illness.
Spanning a whopping 84 dates, the greatest hits tour was due to start in Vancouver, Canada, on July 15.
The singer was found “unresponsive” on Saturday and was rushed to hospital, according to unconfirmed reports.

Sources told Page Six the star was intubated for one night before the tube was removed, although this has not been confirmed.
Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon was said to be by her mother’s side throughout the weekend.
Having been friends for more than two decades, Rosie and Madonna met on the set of the 1990s’ movie A League Of Their Own with the pair maintaining a close relationship ever since.
Since her illness was announced, many fans and fellow A-listers have flocked to social media to offer their well wishes.
