Ruth Langsford has made a cheeky comment about her husband Eamonn Holmes after he posted an old photo of himself on a tennis court.
Celebrating the end of this year's Wimbledon Championships, 62 year old Eamonn posted an unseen "circa 1980" photograph, where the presenter wore a stylish Adidas polo shirt and the tiny tennis shorts which were worn at the time.
The GB News presenter captioned the post: "Circa 1980… Maybe I could have been a contender if I'd have stuck at it. What a day to play. Scorcher."
Both fans and celebrities were impressed with what they saw, but it was Eamonn's wife, Ruth, who had the best quip, writing: "Have you still got those shorts?!"
Broadcaster and journalist Vanessa Feltz commented: "You are still hot hot hot."
His former GMTV co-host Anthea Turner added "Freaking hell mate!" and actress Laila Rouass said "Oh Eamonn. Now I'm really hot and bothered."
Meanwhile, Homes Under The Hammer presenter Lucy Alexander joked: "New balls please"
His photo caused a lot of stir amongst his female fans, too, with one of them writing: "Oh my word. What a dish. You handsome devil Eamonn Holmes."
Another wrote "You certainly had the good looks for it Eamonn" while a third person said "wow your talents never end! Imagine if you had continued, you would [be] the Irish pin up."
Several users went on to compare the presenter's looks to another Belfast-born Northern Irishman, footballing legend George Best, with one adding: "Now that’s a doppelgänger for the late legend and great man George Best! What a shot."
The broadcaster has had a bit of an up and down year since making the decision to leave ITV's This Morning after 15 years with the programme – opting for a breakfast show on GB News, as well as a new BBC cookery show.
While he has made some big career changes, he has struggled with his health after being diagnosed with a dislocated pelvis and three slipped discs back in March 2021.
In June of this year, he had to miss several days of presenting on GB News after he underwent "unexpected" treatment for his long term back injury in hospital.
At the time, he said: "Hi everyone, many of you have been asking why I haven’t been presenting GB News for the past week," the star began.
"Unfortunately, due to a reoccurrence of a long-term back condition, I’ve had to undergo some unexpected hospital treatment and am now following Doctor’s orders by taking a short time off.
"However, I’m looking forward to being back alongside Isabel, my Breakfast co-presenter and friend, next week."
But the presenter gave an insight into his health at last week's TRIC Awards, where Eamonn gave OK! an exclusive update on his health status.
He said: "Hopefully bit by bit I'm getting better, I mean it's…. I've a long way to go but hopefully I'm getting better".
He continued: "I have my physio and I have my training and I try and do what I can do to get stronger".
