Ruth Langsford praises wonderful husband Eamonn Holmes after brutal ITV claims

Eamonn Holmes demands transcript from Phillip Schofield probe

Ruth Langsford dedicated a sweet Instagram post supporting her husband Eamonn Holmes, following his critical comments about the show they once co-hosted, This Morning.

The Loose Women star branded the GB News host “wonderful” in a poignant new post shared with her one million followers.

Sharing a photo of her own dad, Dennis, who tragically died in 2012 after a battle with Alzheimer’s, the 63-year-old ITV star wrote: “To everyone like me, missing their Dads today I sent you a big hug.

“And Happy Father’s day to all the wonderful Dads out there, especially @eamonnholmes.”

Ruth and Eamonn share one son together, Jack, 21.

Eamonn is also dad to three children from his previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes, Declan, 34, Rebecca, 32, and Niall, 30.

Ruth’s kind words came after Eamonn branded This Morning “toxic”, after host Phillip Schofield admitted to lying about an affair with a much younger male colleague.

The journalist recently called on ITV to share the transcript from their probe into rumours of a relationship between Phillip Schofield and a younger male colleague.

He claimed on GB News last week: “They didn’t ask [if he was having an affair], I know exactly what they asked.

“They need a transcript of what actually took place that day because that was not a thorough investigation.”

Before ITV boss Dame Carolyn McCall faced MPs to answer questions on the Schofield furore, Holmes said she must “reassure people on how she protects people and those who are vulnerable”.

Speaking to MPs, McCall said Schofield’s relationship with a male colleague known as Person X was “inappropriate”.

She told the media committee: “The imbalance of power, of dynamics in that relationship makes it deeply inappropriate, and we have policies that say that very clearly.

“One of the things I hope you will see as we go through this is that we worked very, very hard for many, many months until very recently to ask people, not just Phillip Schofield and Person X, but people in production if they knew something was going on.

“It was repeatedly denied by both individuals and also no one in the team ever said there was anything they could say. In fact, most of them said, ‘We don’t know what’s going on.’”
