Rylan Clark has revealed that he was rushed to the hospital twice after his ‘heart stopped’ last year.
The television personality, 33, admitted he terrifying ordeal during the split from his husband Dan Neal, 43.
Speaking at the launch of his new book Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, he said: ‘I didn’t just get mentally ill, I got physically ill.’

Following the breakdown of his six year marriage the telly favourite took five months away from the spotlight due to his deteriorating health.
He previously claimed to have dropped to just nine stone which led to him being hospitalised for ‘safety reasons’ after refusing food.
The told the audience at London’s Royal Festival Hall: ‘Twice last year I ended up in the back of an ambulance because my heart failed’.

Following the hospital dash he was administered an injection which helped his heart begin to beat again in a more regular fashion.
Saying: ‘I just remember the shot going in and all of a sudden this feeling from the middle of your body, both ways, almost takes you over, and you just stop and my heart stopped’.
‘There’s just seven faces and this bright light just looking at me. And then I took a breath. And they were like, ‘He’s in a normal rhythm’.
‘I was like, ‘What the f**k is going on?”

He went on to say that family members were convinced that he was only suffering heartbreak however he was sure it was more serious.
‘I knew it wasn’t right. It turned out that my heart had to be restarted. I remember laying in resus and I had all these pads on with all these wires and not understanding what it was’.
He continued: ‘It was only afterwards that I said, ‘What was the pads for?’ And they said, ‘If you didn’t take your breath… because we would have had to restart you electrically’.
Doctors needed: He went on to say that family members were convinced that he was suffering heartbreak however he was sure it was more serious
‘You don’t even think about it when you’re there. So I didn’t just get mentally ill, I got physically ill.’
It comes after Rylan revealed his body ‘shut down’ and that his mum Linda was convinced he was having a stroke during his health troubles.
The presenter admitted he couldn’t even talk and had ‘slurred’ speech while taking time away from work.
Now, appearing on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, the TV personality said: ‘My body did completely shut down. I wouldn’t eat. I went through a stage where I couldn’t even talk, which for some people might be quite handy.

‘My speech was just slurred. My mum thought I was having a stroke. My body just went. I went down to 9st and I am six-foot-four.’
An avid Eurovision fan, he has been a semi-final commentator since 2018 but his notable absence during the 2021 contest raised red flags among friends.
Rylan continued: ‘Two days before I was due to do Eurovision, everyone knew when I wasn’t at Eurovision something was wrong.
‘If I had done it, I may not have gone on such a quick decline. And when I say quick decline, it felt like minutes. I felt like I’d had the jab and I was shutting down.’
The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who claims he hadn’t stopped working since his stint on 2012’s The X Factor, confessed he ‘needed’ a break.
He said: ‘It was hard but on reflection, yes, I needed to stop. Maybe it was an amalgamation of 10 years. I didn’t stop since the day I went on The X Factor.
‘Nothing stopped. I don’t regret stopping. I do feel if I try to carry on, maybe I could have dealt with things better from a personal point of view. I don’t regret that I stopped.’
