S Club 7's Jo O'Meara is in hospital for emergency back surgery after she suffered "unbearable pain".
The singing star, 43, who injured her back in 2002, first let her followers know that she was in hospital a week ago after 'horrendous pain', and now she's given an update that she requires surgery.
Posting a photograph of herself in a hospital gown and red socks as she put a hand to her chest and stared solemnly into the camera.
In the post that she captioned "UPDATE", she first apologised for having to cancel her headlining appearance at Fife Pride on Saturday, despite previously insisting she would perform, before revealing that she needed surgery to "remove the disk" in her back.
She wrote: "As you may well know I have had some health issues with my back recently and it has resulted in me needing surgery to remove the disc and fix the problem.
"The pain has been unbearable, and I have been advised surgery is now my only option and been told this is something that’s needs doing urgently to prevent further damage to my back! so I will be going in for the procedure Tomorrow!"
She finished her post apologising profusely for missing the pride event, saying that she was "beyond upset to be missing out on such a special day", before imploring her fans to "Reach for the Stars".
Her fans rushed to wish her well in the comments, with one writing: "Good luck Jo. Hope the surgery helps you out once and for all. Take all the rest you need xxxx"
Another commented: "Lots of love Jo, I hope you are back on that stage asap doing your thing pain free," whilst a third wrote: "Hope all goes well & you make a speedy recovery x"
In Jo's first post announcing her hospital dash for her back, she shared a picture of herself in a hospital bed wearing a gown, and wrote: "So after almost 20 years pain free my back decided it was time to flake out on me again.
"The pain has been absolutely horrendous ! 4 discs bulging , and a bad case of sciatica , i yesterday went for some spinal blockers at the amazing @thelondonclinichospital to get things moving again!"
Despite the pain, Jo vowed to perform at upcoming shows as she wrote: "It will not stop me doing my shows , and I will not be beaten by it !
"So I look forward to seeing you all at Gloucester Pride this weekend where I will be headlining, And the following week I will be Headlining at Fife pride !

Unfortunately, as it transpired, Jo couldn't fulfil her promise of performing at Fife Pride as the surgery couldn't wait.
