Sam Quek wades into Football Focus row as she exclaims times change

Dan Walker gets emotional as he hosts final Football Focus

Sam Quek has had her say on the Football Focus debate, saying that “things move on” and isn’t worried about the weekly BBC show disappearing.

Speaking exclusively with Express.co.uk, Sam weighed in on the recent row that occurred on Twitter between former Football Focus presenter Dan Walker and current host Alex Scott over viewing figures.

Dan posted a tweet on X, formally known as Twitter, saying it was “hard” to see Football Focus “struggling” amid reports of declining views.

However, Sam believes that “times change” and that everyone is getting information from different platforms.

“We have to realise now that people get that information from so many different platforms,” she said.

“People tend to not watch it [Football Focus] because you can get online through recordings.

“You can watch it later on YouTube. And I think the generation coming through they only watch YouTube or Netflix or Amazon Prime.”

“So no I’m not worried. It will always have an audience.

“But I think you always have to put everything into perspective. Things just move on. Times change.”

Alex Scott, who replaced Dan on Football Focus in 2021, seemingly didn’t take his tweet too well as she quickly fired back in the comments section.

The former Strictly Come Dancing competitor replied with a GIF of a TV character sipping on a drink and added the caption: “Interesting.”

Dan Walker immediately defended his comment and was quick to say that Alex had “worked hard”.

Sam has recently teamed up with Haliborange in a new campaign to end mum guilt and encourage parent pride.

Speaking about her role in the initiative, she said: “For me this campaign really hit home. I went back to Morning Live after eight weeks.

“There was shock horror because it was unheard of. I’m really fortunate that I’ve got a really supportive husband and family which enables me to do that.”

95 percent of UK mums admit to feeling mum guilt on a daily basis, according to Haliborange.

Haliborange has teamed up with Olympic Gold Medalist, Sam Quek, to end mum guilt and focus instead on parent pride. Join the pledge by sharing your ‘Parent Pride’ moments on social media, using the hashtag #EndMumGuilt and tagging @haliborangeuk
