Shaquille ONeal Embarrassed’ as He Couldnt Help Son Write Resume Despite Brilliant Career

The Hall of Famer and father-of-five says in a new interview that he ‘never had a real job’ in his life after failing to help one of his sons to write a resume.

AceShowbizShaquille O’Neal has recalled a moment with one of his sons. The Hall of Famer and father of five admitted in a new interview that he couldn’t help his son to write his resume despite his brilliant career.

While speaking with Australia’s Sunrise News, the NBA star said, “I am grateful, because I realize that the position I am in, in life, is a lucky position.” He then suddenly confessed, “I never had a real job in my life.”

Shaquille went on reasoning, “When I was trying to help my son fill out a resume, I had to call somebody … I couldn’t do it.” The basketball icon, who shares four kids with his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal, added, “I was embarrassed.”

Sunrise News host David Koch later countered Shaquille’s comments, telling the 50-year-old basketballer, “You’ve never had a real job, but you’re almost as comfortable in business as you are on the basketball court … you’ve got an MBA.” According to reports, the four-time NBA champion earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix online.

Shaquille, who has been the face of major brands like Pepsi, Icy Hot and Reebok, later shared that while he is heavily involved with every project he works on, he’s confident with the team he has in place to manage the business side of his brand. He explained, “The reason why I did that is because I always like to be in charge, but I let other people speak for me, my agents … they think I’m just this dumb jock who has no inclination of what business is. It would just drive me crazy.”

Shaquille and his former spouse Shaunie are parents to Shareef O’Neal, Amirah O’Neal, Shaqir O’Neal and Me’arah O’Neal. While Shaunie has a son, Myles, from a previous relationship, Shaquille has a daughter, Taahirah, with his former girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh.

Shaquille will soon be making his return as a co-analyst for NBA on TNT this season and recently made claims of having an interest in purchasing Orlando Magic, the team that had drafted him back in 1992.
