Simon Gregson slept with a rounders bat after ghost encounter
Simon Gregson has detailed his “eureka moment” in his battle with anxiety.
The Coronation Street star for decades battled behind the scenes, fearful of what others thought of him.
The 48-year-old says he was desperate for people to like him, which led to him over-sharing.
But, Simon has now shared his “mental trigger” that aided his recovery after 20 years of struggling.
It comes after he sought help from a psychiatrist before gaining control of the gruelling condition.

“Everyone has a mental trigger that can help with recovery,” Simon told Cheshire Life magazine.
“For me, it was thinking, ‘Do I want to be surrounded by my family on my deathbed wishing I had worried more?’
“No, I didn’t. That was a eureka moment. So now I just let things go.”
Simon said he learnt to train his brain not to “hold on to stuff that doesn’t matter”.

The soap favourite’s psychiatrist told him he’d had anxiety for two decades.
Simon added: “I was always really anxious growing up, worrying about what people thought of me.
“There were also times of depression. You can’t keep brushing stuff under the carpet when your kids start to notice things.”
He first spoke out about his anxiety battle in 2019 in a BBC documentary.
“This is real and awful to live with please watch and understand it’s a hidden awful emotion that effects far more than you’d think,”(sic) he said on Twitter at the time.
“BUT treatable and manageable with the right help. Not alone people xx.”
Responding to a mother whose 15-year-old daughter was “going through hell” at the time, Simon replied: “Life is so complicated now.
“Too many pressures on our baby’s. Take a month go back to nature love and patience. One life. Enjoy embrace and love each other.”(sic)
Simon previously said he is “healthier” in his 40s than he’s ever been.
He has been married to Emma Gleave since 2010, and they have three sons: Alfie, Harry and Henry.
