Sinead O’Connor’s final resting place confirmed

Sinead O’Connor’s final resting place has been confirmed as a peaceful plot in south Dublin called The Garden.

Pictures of the beloved Irish singer’s grave show it adorned with pale roses and the blue hydrangeas that had surrounded her coffin as it was driven through the coastal town of Bray, Co Wicklow.

Mourners lined the streets to say a final farewell to the Nothing Compares 2 U singer before she was laid to rest in Deansgrange cemetery on Tuesday.

Her family had asked that people stand along the Strand Road for “a last goodbye”, while hundreds of locals and fans also gathered outside her former house, Montebello, where she had lived for 15 years.

The late singer sold her former home in 2021 and, as it is now lying empty, it was made into a make-shift shrine dedicated to Sinead since her tragic death.

Sinead was found dead in her south-east London flat two weeks ago aged just 56.

The London Inner South Coroners’ Court has confirmed an autopsy has been completed on the singer’s remains to secure a “medical cause of death”.

But the results may not be available for “some weeks”, a statement said.

Court chiefs said the results will be publicly disclosed if an inquest is opened into Nothing Compares 2 U star Sinead’s death.

Met Police last week said the legendary singer’s death, just weeks after she’d moved to the UK, was not being treated as suspicious.

Cops said: “Police were called at 11:18hrs on Wednesday, 26 July to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address in the SE24 area.

“Officers attended. A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”

No medical cause was given for her death, London Inner South Coroner’s Court said last week.
