‘Still love you, Elt’: Sir Rod Stewart pokes fun at pal Elton John on stage as he impersonates him in latest prank between the famous ‘frenemies’
- They’re two pop legends who have had a turbulent friendship for over 50 years
- During their years of one-upmanship, Rod previously launched billboards to promote his 1970s Blondes ‘ave More Fun Tour
- Elton then had billboards posted opposing those with his own face on them, reading ‘…But Brunettes make more money’
- In 2018 – Rod said that Elton’s tour was ‘dishonest’ and ‘stunk of selling tickets’ during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
- The dig sparked a real feud between the pair – who then weren’t on speaking terms -with Elton blasting: ‘ I thought he had a f***ing cheek’
- This led to an apology from Rod, who explained he was ‘bang out of order’.

‘Still love you, Elt’: Sir Rod Stewart, 77, pokes fun at pal Elton John on stage as he impersonates him in a mimicked ensemble
Clad in pieces typically more suited to Elton’s wardrobe, the singer sported a bright blazer with a purple and pink floral print.
He layered it over a white shirt, which also featured a bold pattern, and teamed with side-striped trousers – adding Elton’s signature round-framed glasses.
Sitting on stage, Rod began to impersonate the Rocket Man singer as he played an air piano and pulled a face.

It’s the latest in a line of pranks between Elton and Rod over the last 55 years, with the pair famous for their frenemy relationship.
In their string of one-up pranks, Rod launched billboards to promote his 1970s Blondes ‘ave More Fun Tour – with Elton then placing billboards opposing those with his own face on them, reading ‘But Brunettes make more money’.
But their humorous digs back and forth came to a boiling point in 2018 – where Rod said that Elton’s tour was ‘dishonest’ and ‘stunk of selling tickets’ during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

The public dig sparked a real feud between the pair – who then weren’t on speaking terms -with Elton blasting: ‘ I thought he had a f***ing cheek, complaining about me promoting a tour while he was sat on a TV show promoting his own tour,’ in his autobiography.
This led to an apology from Rod, who explained he was ‘bang out of order’.
And the pair appear to be back to their pranking days, finally patching things up after three years of not talking to one another.
