Strictly’s Tony Adams captured in heated argument with partner Katya Jones

Former England football captain Tony Adams was caught on camera in a heated argument with dance partner Katya Jones during Saturday’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing.

This week’s episode of Strictly saw Tony fumble his way through a Salsa performance which, in turn, landed him at the bottom of the leaderboard, just one point behind Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe.

During the closing moments of the show, as the hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly were wrapping things up, Tony and Katya could be seen behind the duo looking rather frustrated.

While it’s not clear what Tony said, his facial expression and hand movements suggest he was at least annoyed by the situation.

Earlier in the show, Katya admitted to shouting at her partner after he messed up his footwork.

While talking to Claudia, 50, Tony recalled: “I was too busy having fun!

“The crowd was all up and it was great, then I looked down there and thought, ‘Oh sugar, what's going on there?”

Katya reportedly exclaimed, “oh my god”, before shouting “focus” at him.

The judging panel, comprised of Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke, also took issue with Tony’s performance of Pitbull’s I Know You Want Me.

“It didn't work tonight – its a shame,” Craig, 57, told the former Arsenal captain, while Motsi added, “You tried so hard… stuff goes on in life… pick up you crown, go out there and salsa it out!”

Shirley Ballas, who has been criticised all season for her hard feedback, told Tony he had “fearless lifts” but ultimately let himself down on simple footwork.

Comedian Ellie Taylor, who scored just 22 with her Rumba to Alone, was slammed particularly hard by the judging panel this week, with many fans taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Craig said: “I thought it was a little bit stiff, actually. It felt like you were just walking around.”

Similarly, Shirley said the “fluidity and flexibility was totally missing.”

While Motsi and Anton gave Ellie a 7, Shirley awarded the former Countdown presenter a 5, and Craig gave her a shocking score of just 3.

Ellie was visibly upset following the feedback and told her partner, “I’m just so sorry they didn’t like it.

Fans on social media seem to be fully behind Ellie, with one penning: “Ellie Taylor has been so good on #Strictly and yet the judges keep undermarking her and really lowering her confidence. All my votes for her and Johannes tonight.”

Another wrote: “No because if ellie taylor ends up in the dance off after having to stop herself from sobbing on national tv there will be hell to pay.”

A third person added: “How on earth is whatever mess Tony produced better than what Ellie Taylor did, Craig? Explain it to me like I'm stupid. Get out your crayons and draw me a diagram.”
