SZA told TMZ at LAX Airport on Monday (October 17) that her long-awaited follow-up to her 2017 record Ctrl will be out “any day.”
The singer also said that she has recorded a whole lot of music.
Responding to a question “How many total songs do you think you’ve recorded?” she replied, “Total? A hundred, maybe? Like, I don’t even know, actually… Five years worth of material.”
The Grammy winner said she’s optimistic listeners will receive the music well. “I’m hoping it goes well,” she said.
There’s never been any strong reason for SZA’s album delay. The singer and TDE President Terrence “Punch” Henderson have been trading blame for years now, and a project remains elusive.
Henderson recently sat down on Math Hoffa’s “Expert Opinion” podcast where he appeared to pass the hot potato to her, suggesting she can drop the album whenever she’s ready.
