The Black Crowes recently released a music video for their cover of Ann Peeble‘s 1972 hit “99 Pounds.”
The visual features footage from live in-studio performances recorded on January 4, 1992. The performance took place at the end of the Southern Harmony recording sessions at Southern Tracks in Atlanta, Georgia, and was filmed with a single camera.
The track is among the 14 never-before-released recordings off the forthcoming box set edition of the band’s chart-topping sophomore album, The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion, due out on December 15 via American Recordings/UMe.
Don Bryant wrote “99 Pounds,” which was originally released on Ann Peebles’s 1972 album Straight From The Heart.
