The Afropunk Festival makes its return after two years of virtual experiences, with The Roots and Burna Boy as headliners for the 2022 edition.
A celebration of Black joy and a testament to the resilience of the Brooklyn community, Afropunk will be staged at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn on September 10 and 11.
The legendary Roots crew headlines the first night, celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band with a set that draws from their decade-spanning catalog.
Closing out the festival on the second night is Burna Boy, performing songs from his upcoming album Love, Damini. It will be his first headlining set at a U.S. festival and his first show in New York City since he sold out Madison Square Garden in April.
Beyond the headliners, the lineup for Afropunk Festival 2022 includes TDE rhymer Isaiah Rashad, Lucky Daye, Tierra Whack, Freddie Gibbs, Earl Sweatshirt, rising star Bartees Strange, Butcher Brown, Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold, and rising DJ Spinall.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now.
