The Weeknd recently shared the latest trailer for his upcoming HBO Max drama series “The Idol.”
The clip shows Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) portraying a magnetic and mysterious self-help guru who gets himself involved in the career of Lily-Rose Depp‘s beleaguered pop star, Jocelyn.
“These people are wondering whether you still got that fire. So give ’em what they love,” the Weeknd is seen telling the pop star. “Los Angeles is where all the monsters of the world come to gather. Trust no one … Just me.”
The clip shows the guru (Tesfaye) asserting dominance over Depp’s career and demanding full control. “I need full control, no matter f-king what,” he demands. He is even seen blindfolding her in the recording booth.
The series by The Weeknd, Reza Fahim and Euphoria’s Sam Levinson, also features Jane Adams, Suzanna Son, Moses Sumney, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Neff, Troye Sivan, and Blackpink’s Jennie.
