This Morning star gives birth to baby girl after secret pregnancy and struggle to conceive

This Morning contributor Emma Kenny has given birth to a little girl after hiding her pregnancy for nine months.

Emma, 50, is a psychologist and TV presenter who regularly appears as a commentator on the show, often lending her expertise to listeners who’ve submitted queries to the show.

The star took to Instagram to share a series of pictures from her birth, and explained why she chose to keep her pregnancy under wraps.

“I’ve waited 10 years to finally hold you in my arms. With every miscarriage I tried to learn to be grateful and accepting of what I had,” she wrote in the caption: “I tried to dampen my desire to be a mother to another child, to find peace in my natural infertility and yet it felt so unnatural all in the same moment.”

The star, who shares sons Tyde, 16, and Evan, 14, with her ex-husband, shared a heartfelt post, said her newborn has "healed her" after trying for a long time for another baby.

Emma admitted that she hadn’t told anyone she was expecting and had thrown herself into her work “in a bid to distract” herself from her “growing hope” that her child would survive to full term this time around.

She revealed that she was able to keep her pregnancy under wraps as it was largely “symptomless and easy.”

Emma finished off the post by saying that “whilst I grieve the years I wish we could have had together, I know that you are meant to be mine right now, and not a minute sooner” before revealing that she’s named her little girl Etta-Blue.

The psychologist shared that she had welcomed her daughter at 12.50am on 30 July and posted a series of adorable snaps of her new arrival.

In one, her husband Pete can be seen cuddling up to their newborn daughter.

Emma was flooded with support from her friends and fans who rushed to the comments to congratulate the star.

“Emma, that's amazing news. We saw you in Halifax a few weeks ago and we did wonder if you were expecting! Thrilled to bits for you, congrats to you and your family,” one fan wrote under the post, while another shared that they had seen her show in Chesterfield and “never would have known.”

Emma has recently embarked on a tour around the UK, The Serial Killer Next Door, which sees her analyse true crime cases and discuss what drives someone to kill.

Emma, who bravely opened up about losing her own dad on an episode of This Morning, is already mum to two older sons, 16 year old Tyde, and 14 year old Evan, who she shares with her ex husband.
