While taking stage with his Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras band, the wannabe rockstar made a cheeky reference to his controversial affair with Raquel. In a video obtained by Page Six, he joked about being interested in BFF Tom Schwartz‘s mom and not Raquel while singing his own rendition of “Stacy’s Mom”.
“Schwartzy’s mom has got it going on,” he sang, “She’s all I want and I waited for so long/ Schwartzy, can’t you see that Raquel is not for me.” The crowd was caught off guard by the comment before they erupted into cheers and laughter.
The eyebrow-raising reference arrived after Tom defended Raquel amid claims that she lied about entering a mental health facility and was at a spa instead. “Raquel is in a mental facility,” Tom told TMZ while looking visibly angry last month. “Whether she decides to tell you where that is after the fact … that’s where Raquel is. No visitors, no friends, no family, no phone, no nothing.”
The TomTom bar owner later criticized co-stars Peter Madrigal and Dayna Kathan for saying that she wasn’t at a mental facility, but a “Spa Resort.” Saying they “have absolutely no idea what’s going on,” Tom added that Raquel is “doing great” despite not having any contact with the former pageant queen.
Through her representative, Raquel announced that she voluntarily admitted herself into a mental health facility amid backlash over her affair scandal with Tom, who was dating Ariana Madix at the time. “Raquel and her family decided before the relationship was discovered that she would enter a voluntary facility for mental health counselling,” her rep told Entertainment Tonight in April.
“She was scheduled to go in pre-reunion but decided she wanted to finish her filming commitment. Bravo and production were aware and in support of her journey towards better mental health,” the spokesperson further explained, referring to the “Vanderpump Rules” reunion which was taped on March 23.
