Claiming to have learned a lesson from his failed relationship with the social media influencer, the ‘Fast and Furious’ star blames their age gap as he says, ’43-year-olds shouldn’t date 25-year-olds.’
AceShowbiz –Tyrese Gibson has learned a lesson or two from his latest doomed relationship. After publicly calling out his ex Zelie Timothy on social media when announcing their breakup, the singer-turned-actor has appeared to throw another shade at his former girlfriend.
On Sunday, July 31, the Roman Pearce of the “Fast & Furious” franchise took to Instagram to share his side of the story after their split while promoting his new album. While Zelie recently said she missed him, the 43-year-old doesn’t want her back.
Blaming their age gap, Tyrese wrote in the since-deleted post, “I have learned a very big lesson here and that’s 43-year-olds shouldn’t try and connect to or relate to 25-year-olds.” He called the combo “OIL and WATER,” adding, “It just doesn’t mix,” before saying, “I guess I’m really out here GROWN GROWN and tryna keep up with these youngsters is not my life or my world.”
The “Transformers” star continued, “Although it was one of your biggest fears and insecurities, I still don’t want her back, I don’t wanna see her, I haven’t seen her, and don’t want anything to do with her other [than] her being an amazing co-parent to our daughter…”
“Fly Zelie fly away and never look back… You will never find me cause I don’t exist but I am very clear about what we had and how the magic of out moment has came and went,” he reflected on their failed romance, before assuring, “I will marry again.”
Tyrese also seemed to address his ex-wife Norma Mitchell as saying, “Although the majority of my album entitled #BeautifulPain is about my ex wife and this divorce has turned into a grueling 2 years the smiles and energy and vibrations you brought into my life will never be overlooked.”
Tyrese likened Zelie to “snake” and called her “a master manipulator” when announcing the end of their relationship on July 7. “I am single now and I want everyone to DM have fun with @zelietimothy. She’s verified now and wasn’t ready to be married. She still wanted to go BIG [and] live her best life,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.
Later that month, Zelie admitted that it’s not easy to move on without him. “With you being my first serious relationship, I thought it would be easy to move on,” she said. “Yet, with you not being with me, I have realized that the absence of my person is even worse than that. After all this, you’ve made me know that hell is just earth without you.”
The entrepreneur added, “I’ve loved you with everything I have since the day we met. I hope going to these therapy sessions will help us both learn about each other deeper. I want you to know how much I miss you and what you mean to me. I love you.”
