Just months after revealing her long-term relationship with former flame Ben Ofoedu had sadly come to an end, television presenting favourite Vanessa Feltz has opened up about her first date.
The 61-year-old This Morning 'agony aunt' took to Instagram today to keep fans in the loop with her love life, revealing that – with the help of Celebs Go Dating experts – she's embarking on her first romantic endeavour in 17 years.
Recording a video of herself in the back of a taxi – and wearing some rather extravagant sunglasses – Vanessa exclaims: "O. M. G. Going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating. I haven't been on a date for 17 years.
"So, just imagine how I'm feeling. I can't even find the words to describe it – and I'm good at words – so I don't know. But that is where I'm going this morning.
"And I'm wishing you all a lovely, lovely Friday."
The blonde bombshell – who was previously married to ex-husband Michael Kurur between 1983–2000, before getting into a relationship with Ben – captioned her rib-tickling video: "Off on my first date @celebsgodating !!! Flipping heck!!! Nervous or what?!"
When shooting with Vanessa earlier this month at her beautiful home in North London, OK! asked the star whether there was any truth in the rumours that she'd be set to appear on the much-loved E4 dating show, following her and Ben's split.
Laughing, she previously teased: "I can’t confirm or deny whether I’m actually doing it.
"But I can certainly say it would be right up my street and I would be absolutely willing to give it my very best shot and I will take it very seriously and hope that it yields me the true love of my life and Prince Charming!"
She also told us about her checklist for her dream man, so any potential suitors can take note.
She stated that he has to be "gentle, kind, good humoured, good natured and honest and transparent. So, I would really like it if someone said they were going to post a letter, they were really going to post a letter. That would be incredibly reassuring."
As well as a lovely personality with all the charming traits of a kind-hearted gentleman, Vanessa wants to make sure he's easy on the eye, too – no pressure dating experts!
"Obviously, I’m still up for incredibly handsome, enormously entertaining, very clever, dynamic – all that razzly dazzly stuff I still want and like. I’m like anyone else – you’ve got to fancy the person, there’s got to be some chemistry, of course. But the absolute optimum thing would be kindness and honesty."
In 2006, Feltz became engaged to ex Ben, with the two originally planning on tying the knot the following year, but opting to remain engaged for years, until announcing their split in February.
