Broken hearts club
Despite it being Valentine’s week, the celebrity world has seen several hearts broken.
Kylie Minogue and Paul Solomons have reportedly split up after five years, and my ITV pal Vanessa Feltz has called time on her relationship with fiancé of 16 years, Ben Ofoedu.
It’s always difficult when your love life is in the public eye, but I was surprised to see Vanessa open up about it so honestly on Instagram.
So far, it looks as though Vanessa and Kylie are handling their break-ups well and I hope they both have decent support systems.
Either that, or write a chart-topping hit song aimed at your ex like Miley Cyrus has just done with Flowers, which is allegedly aimed at Liam Hemsworth!
Praying for Turkey and Syria
My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the deadly earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria last week.
It’s such a worrying time, particularly with regard to getting the resources they need to take care of the injured.
The videos I’ve seen of homes collapsing and people being carried out of the rubble are devastating.
I’m thinking of those who have passed away, those who still have loved ones missing and anyone whose lives have been affected.
Making history
Queen Bey has officially made history with the most Grammy Award wins of all time – what an achievement!
I’m over the moon for Beyoncé and her family because she really deserves this victory.
She released her first ever solo album 20 years ago, and she already has an unbelievable 32 Grammys.
She is what it means to say “Black excellence”.
I can’t wait to see what the next 20 years brings for this lady.
It was also heart-warming to see rapper Quavo deliver a tribute at the ceremony in honour of his nephew and fellow Migos star, Takeoff, who died in tragic circumstances last year.
What a showdown
OMG! I’ve only just managed to recover from the jaw-dropping finale of Happy Valley.
I’ve seen some viewers criticise the show for not including an action-packed conclusion of Catherine Cawood [Sarah Lancashire] and Tommy Lee Royce’s [James Norton] story.
But that final conversation in the kitchen was purely psychological.
It needed to be calm and collected to have us on the edge of our seats.
Sarah is an acting legend. I’m finding myself adopting her sarcasm when I’m speaking to people!
Newfound respect
My top TV pick this week is Netflix’s new documentary Pamela Anderson: A Love Story.
I didn’t know much about Pamela before this show but it really changed my perception of her.
She opens up about being divorced, abused, raped, the heartbreak of her sex tape being leaked and the obstacles she faced being a mother in the spotlight.
These documentaries are so important as they give her the space to tell her story and not twist it for entertainment purposes.
