Whitney Port Admits She May Have Gotten 'Too Thin' After Husband Told Her He's Concerned

Whitney Port is getting candid about her health.

The 38-year-old has never been afraid to document her life — highs or lows, she’s been very transparent. From her time on the hit reality show The Hills, to opening up about multiple devastating pregnancy losses, she’s dared to share it all. And that’s not changing when it comes to her figure, either.

The fashion designer took to Instagram Monday to address the current state of her body — and why she may have been wrong…

The MTV alum said she’s gotten “a lot of comments” from fans about her weight recently. But she brushed them all off — after all, people on the internet are never satisfied or, well, reasonable. But when it comes to those who know and love you?

Yes, everything changed for Whitney when even her husband, Tim Rosenman, suggested she may be “too thin.” She explained in a lengthy Story post, over a pic of her 6-year-old son, Sonny:

“I also want to address my weight real quick. I’ve gotten a lot of comments about looking too thin. At first, it didn’t bother me. I chalked it up to people not knowing what my diet looks like. But Timmy brought it to my attention, as a good husband should, and said it’s not just something strangers are spewing.”

She continued:

“He has been worried about me. I had to think about it and try to figure out what has been happening because it’s not something I’m consciously thinking about! I eat to live, not the other way around. But after stepping on the scale, it hit me.”

Whitney explained how she got so thin without meaning to, writing:

“It’s not something I strive for. I always feel hungry but I just don’t know what to eat. It’s not how I want to look or feel though. My excuses are that I’m too lazy to make feeding myself a priority or I’m too picky when it comes to taste and quality. Both are unacceptable and I don’t want to set an unhealthy example so I promised Timmy and I’ll promise you that my health will be a priority.”

That’s a powerful realization to come to, and we’re so happy she was able to do so with the help of her supportive husband.

Just last week, she posted a bikini pic on IG, and fans quickly began commenting things like, “I hope she’s alright,” “I’m worried about her,” and “Take care of yourself Whitney.” See (below):

This isn’t the first time the reality star has addressed her body image, either. It was back in 2010 when she was just 25 years old that she told OK! Magazine the “balance of wanting to look good but stay healthy” was a “push/pull.” She admitted at the time to eating just “1,000 calories a day.” At the time she didn’t think it was a problem. Now things are different…

We surely hope sticks to prioritizing her health so she can be around for a long time for her little guy!
