Tom Mann says "nothing makes any sense" one year on from his fiancée's Danielle Hampson's tragic death.
First bursting onto the scene in The X Factor as part of boyband Stereo Kicks, the 29 year old was engaged to Dani, 34, at the time of her devastating passing, while the couple shared a baby son named Bowie.
He announced her death via Instagram on June 20 last year, and now, to mark the one year anniversary, Tom has posted a heartbreaking message on the same platform.
"1 year, somehow. 1 year ago, I put on my suit expecting to meet you at that town hall & tell you 'I do'. I ended up wearing it in a hospital waiting room. 1 year ago, my biggest worry had been that unbearable heat," it began.
"It was impossible to know the unbearable pain that was about to come. 1 year ago, I had woken up beside you for the last time.
"No answers to how or why, and no words to articulate any of these feelings. Nothing makes any sense & everything has changed. I don't know why you couldn't stay.
"Dan, Bowie will know everything that you were to everyone that knew you. He will know your love & light over your loss. I am so very grateful that someone as special as you chose me. Thank you for letting me love you," the star concluded.
Tom, who is good pals with singer Lewis Capaldi, received a big warm hug from his fanbase in the comment column.
"Gorgeous words," one individual replied. "I don’t know either of you, I’m still here from the Stereo Kicks days however what I do know is that you honour her so respectfully and beautifully. Her love lives on through yourself and your son. Look after yourself and Happy Fathers Day.
"Whilst it may not feel like a happy day for you and understandably so, please take a moment for you and feel proud," they went on to insist. "You are raising a beautiful boy in a rare circumstance. You are doing amazing and I am sure she would be beaming with pride. Lots of love to all who knew Dan and thinking of you all today x."
In Tom's original statement confirming the horrendously life-changing news, he wrote to the world: "I can't believe I am writing these words but my darling Dani – my best friend, my everything and more, the love of my life – passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning, 18th June.
"On what was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives ended in irreversible heartbreak. I feel like I have cried an ocean. We never made it to the alter; or got to say our vows, or dance our first dance, but I know you know that you were my entire world and the best thing that has ever happened to me, Danielle.
"I will wear this ring that I was always supposed to wear as a sign of my unconditional love to you."
