A FOOT expert has had his say on three pairs of shoes he would never wear as they could cause potential damage down the line.
And there’s plenty of styles to consider, as he says everything from flip flops to a brand of trainer have their downfalls.
Paul, who works as a Podiatrist, ran through the three pairs he would actively discourage others from slipping their feet into.
In a video posted to his TikTok account @paulthepodiatrist, Paul began by lifting the lid on flip flops.
Flip flops
He explained: “I wouldn’t wear these shoes because when you put your foot through the loops, you have to grip on the shoe – and that can cause claw toeing.
“Also, when you’re walking down the street, it’s very easy to trip and fall when you’re wearing them.”

He went on to point out another negative, as he added: “They don’t offer your feet any support.”
Stilettos
Paul then continued: “The second shoe that I wouldn’t wear is stilettos.
“I don’t want to hate on all heels because a one and a half inch heel is ok for most people.
“But stilettos have such a thin base. Actually my colleague’s fallen recently and broken her foot.

Sketchers
He put forward his personal opinion, as he said: “The third one is Sketchers. There’s three reasons why I don’t like Sketchers.”
He then unveiled each, starting out by saying that the slip-on style “are made tighter to hold on to your feet”.
Therefore, he argued that they “can squeeze your toes and cause problems".
Paul went on: “The second thing is they’re so soft that your foot has to do more work.
“So they may feel good, but then, later on through the day, actually your foot’s more tired.”
Paul also claimed that he thinks that “the shoes just don’t last long.”
