The exact toxic substance in grapes and raisins is unknown, but it’s believed that it could be the inability of dogs to metabolize flavonoids, tannins, and monosaccharides from the grapes.

According to dogs trust, the best way to make pancakes for dogs on Shrove Tuesday includes the following ingredients:

  • 50g plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 100ml water
  • Optional: toppings like xylitol-free peanut butter

Once you've got your ingredients, you then:

  • Put all the ingredients into a bowl and whisk well.
  • Pour the mixture into a squeezy bottle with a thin nozzle.
  • Heat a frying pan to a medium temperature.
  • Using the squeezy bottle, draw the outline of a bone or paw.
  • Then fill it in with more mixture.
  • Cook for 30 seconds on each side.
  • Add toppings of your choice suitable for a dog and serve
