Can you reheat McDonald's? | The Sun

MCDONALD'S is a go-to when it comes to fast food.

But have you ever found that you've ordered too much? You might find that it doesn't have to go to waste.

Can you reheat McDonald's?

The good news is you are able to reheat your McDonald's if you find your eyes were bigger than your stomach when you ordered.

The main concern with reheating food is avoiding food poisoning, which is simple enough when you store your leftovers correctly.

Within three hours of getting your fast food, make sure you put it in the fridge in an airtight sealed container.

Eat it the next day after reheating but do not leave the food longer than two or three days or it could spoil.

What is the best way to reheat McDonald's?

Due to there being a variety of items on the McDonald's menu, there is not one rule for all but the best thing to do is avoid the microwave.

Microwaving your burger or chicken can end up ruining the texture and should only be used if you have nothing else.

With burgers such as the Big Mac or Chicken Legend you should deconstruct your food and remove the meat, along with any toppings.

You don't want to ruin your lettuce by reheating it – if you have fresh lettuce or tomatoes you can always swap out the old.

Cover loosely with tin foil, flip halfway through and check regularly, making sure it is completely heated before eating.

Food safety recommendations in the UK state that food is best cooked to a minimum core temperature of 75°C.

You can crisp up your burger buns in the oven at the same time but be careful not to burn them.

If you have a chicken product like the nuggets then a great way to reheat is using a skillet or frying pan.

Put the chicken on a low heat in a bit of oil for about two minutes, watch them crisp up and retain their delicious flavour.

You can also place chicken in the oven with a similar technique to the beef – just heat it for up to 10 minutes and make sure it is hot inside before eating.

Fries can be cooked with either of these two methods or put in an air fryer if you have one.

Make sure whichever method you use, to preheat to stop any sogginess from the potato starch.
