Cleaning fans share the totally FREE method to stop cats pooing in your garden – it's odd but works a charm | The Sun

IF you are fed up with your neighbour’s cat constantly pooing in your garden – then fear not, you’ve come to the right place.

Thanks to cleaning fans, there’s a very unusual, but very simple method to stop cats from doing the dirty on your lawn.

And don’t worry, you won’t need to go out and spend a fortune on lots of expensive cleaning products to deter the cat either.

In fact, you won’t need to spend a penny with this easy hack.

While citrus peel, coffee and chilli scattered around a garden are mildly effective cat deterrents, now gardeners suggest considering an alternative method to stop unwanted pets leaving their mark on your grass.

And while there are many commercial products available to deter cats, they're not as effective as the manufacturers would have you believe.

The cleaning fans explained that cats aren't keen on the smell of human urine and so will be deterred from pooing on your grass if they smell it.

One cleaning whizz said: “Man's wee diluted (yes sounds awful) but it works for [deterring] badgers and foxes also….”

A second advised: “Get a boy of any age to pee around the garden, they hate it.”

Another user added: “A friend of mine had a small holding and she used to [wee] in a bucket and pour it around the outskirts of her barn.

"It worked for her!”

Meanwhile, someone else admitted: “Gross but works. I have my teenage boy wee in the garden once a week – no cats or foxes.

"They don’t like the smell.”

Whilst another chimed in: “If you have a male in the house, get them to pee in a bottle first thing in the morning and use that around your garden as a deterrent.
