Dad shares the VERY detailed instructions his wife left for their kids’ dinner… as he admits she thinks he’s ‘an idiot’ | The Sun

AS any parent knows, when you leave your kids in the care of someone else, it's almost vital to leave a detailed list of instructions.

But one mum has taken things to the extreme by leaving the list for her husband as she went back to work after her maternity leave came to an end.

The man took to Reddit to share a picture of what his wife had left him – his kids' dinner plates with bits of paper inside to show which food goes in which section.

She'd also left out a tin of baked beans and one of sweetcorn, along with the cutlery they would need for the meal.

"My wife just went back to work and thinks I'm an idiot," the dad wrote on Reddit.

"I'm doing everything I can to help her feel comfortable.

"I prepped the dinner exactly how she asked me to.

"But I still thought it was pretty funny."

His wife's instructions told him to prepare four "dino" nuggets for his son, alongside ketchup, honey mustard, rice or beans.

While for his daughter he had to give her some meatballs from the fridge with corn and peas that needed to be "steamed in the green steamer".

He also needed to give her some rice, which he had to "warm up".

But despite the clear instructions, he didn't manage a completely successful dinner.

"It went pretty smoothly but apparently I had the temperature wrong for some of the food," he added.

While some people slammed the mum for going OTT with her detailed instructions, others insisted it was for the dad's own good.

"Mum was probably trying to save dad from endless toddler tantrums from the ketchup being slightly to the left," one wrote.

"Or the nuggets touching the corn. Toddlers are emotional terrorists."
