Black Friday may have originated in the United States, but the retail holiday has cemented itself in the Australian market as one of the biggest shopping events of the year with a range of retailers participating. Traditionally, the sales begin on the Friday after the Thanksgiving holiday – this year, that’s November 24.
A Finder survey of over 1000 people revealed that 46 per cent of Australians have, or are planning to, shop the sales this year. In terms of popularity, Black Friday (30 per cent) has overtaken the Boxing Day sales (26 per cent).
Whether you’re looking to save a few bucks on your Christmas gift shopping with the cost of living tightening wallets or are looking to score a deal on something on your own wish list, there are plenty of reasons to check out this year’s deals.
From swimwear to flights, here is our curation of 2023’s Black Friday sales.
Fashion

Byron Bay label Afends is offering up to 70 per cent off its range (until November 27), while other Aussie brands including Dissh (20 per cent off select styles, November 21 to 27), Bec + Bridge (up to 50 per cent off select styles, until November 27) and Dyspnea (up to 80 per cent off, until November 27) are jumping on board the Black Friday sale train.
Strip down and shop Sydney label Femmze′ s range of leakproof underwear, bike shorts and bodysuits (15 per cent off, until November 30) or browse Boody’s collection of bamboo underwear and loungewear for men and women (up to 50 per cent off, until November 26). Paire, known for their luxe socks, are offering up to 40 per cent off on their range that extends to underwear, towels and loungewear.
Restock your activewear wardrobe at P.E. Nation (40 per cent off sitewide until November 21) or Aje Athletica (30 per cent off sitewide, November 21-27).
Footwear and accessories

Have you joined the growing number of Australians going sober? Stock up on Non’s range of alcohol-free wine with 25 per cent off their entire selection (November 24-29).
If you’ve been coveting something from Dyson, save $550 on their Cyclone V10 vacuum (until December 6), $450 on the V8 vacuum (until November 29) and $400 on the V11 vacuum (until November 29).
Australian brand Miss Amara (until December 5) is offering 35 per cent rug range.
