WE ALL know when it comes to fashion, it’s not a case of one size fits all.
Tall, athletic, curvy, petite… bodies come in all shapes and sizes, so dressing them well means paying attention to proportions.
Thanks to George at Asda, I have styled two lovely ladies, with very different body shapes, in its fabulous range of pocket-friendly dresses.
I hope this video inspires you to take your summer dresses though to autumn with some great styling tips.
Transitional layering
First up, transitional layering. Toughen up summery prints with big boots.
By adding an oversized bag and quilted jacket, your outfit will have a real fashion edge.
Layer a jumper and a jacket over the dress for a completely different look.
Layering adds interest and helps you get more bang for your buck out of clothes.
Fabulous florals
Next, florals. I have worked in fashion for 30 years and, I promise you, they never date!
A floral dress is an investment piece that you can wear all year round – with the right accessories.
Dress it down with trainers and a denim shacket for a day out with the girls or give it a Parisian twist with a cool pair of brogues.
Either way, a floral dress will be a hero item in your wardrobe.
Monochrome mix up
Lastly, how to mix up monochrome. Don’t be afraid to clash prints.
Add a bold stripe over a geometric black and white dress for a standout look.
Shop smart and you can wear your clothes season after season.
Black-and-white polka dots are a chic and simple way to nail the monochrome trend.
This gorgeous dress can be dressed down or up: just add strappy heels for a sexy date night look.
Hopefully this has been a quick and easy masterclass in making the most of your summer wardrobe.
But remember, ladies, at the end of the day, confidence is key. If you feel great, you will look fabulous!
