A HAIR expert has released an urgent warning urging people not to follow the viral no-wash trend.
Abbey Yung, from the US, is a Trichologist in training and took to TikTok to reveal the nasty side effects of not washing your hair.
In the clip, the hair whizz responded to a video of a woman saying she had stopped using shampoo and conditioner to share her thoughts.
Abbey said: "Please do not do this.
"There are so many scalp conditions that are either triggered or made worse by not properly washing your scalp."
And if that wasn't enough to stop you from trying it, Abbey warned it could lead to hair loss.

She added: "And if that's not enough for you to not test this out, then you should know that a common side effect of many of those scalp conditions is hair loss.
"And that's not something that's going to happen immediately within the first month of doing it.
"It's something that would happen over time, kind of like when it's too late."
The hair expert explained that the best way to look after your locks is to make sure you wash it regularly.
